1. Students must be dressed according to the dress code in order to enter an event. The dress code for Cultural Events is defined in The Skyliner.

Men – 1. neatly fitting and pressed trousers
            2. a collared polo style shirt; dress shirt and tie are preferable
                 (

            3. no sandals / flip flops will be permitted.

Women – 1. neatly fitting dress, skirt with a blouse, or pantsuit
(Dresses and skirts must not be shorter than mid thigh.)

Denim pants, athletic apparel and shorts are not acceptable.
Students not adhering to the dress code will not be allowed to enter a
Cultural Event.

Campus guests are welcome to attend any of our events – the dress code does not necessarily apply to guests; however, knowing the normal attire at social and cultural functions is beneficial to all involved.

2. Arriving 10 minutes prior to the event is preferred. No one will be seated after the event has started.

3. Food, drink, and tobacco are not allowed at any event.

4. No talking during the event. Please be courteous to those around you.

5. Cell-phones and beepers should be turned off.

6. Sleeping during an event will result in no credit.

7. Bringing books, homework, or any form of electronic entertainment to an event will result in no credit.

8. Flash photography is not allowed.

9. Children under the age of five are not allowed into Cultural Events.

10. The audience should remain seated until intermission or the end of the production.

11. At classical music recitals, audiences applaud only at the end of a complete piece. Many compositions are broken into two or three parts called movements. It is inappropriate to applaud between movements; instead, applause should come at the end of the complete composition. Usually, watching the conductor or primary musician is a good indicator that the piece is completed.

12. At plays, a flicker of the lights means to take your seat. Lights are dimmed before the opening scene and at the end of intermission. Curtain calls always follow the completion of a performance. It is inappropriate to leave until the house lights have been restored following the curtain call.
