On March 25, 2008 NGU presented “Bands in the Spotlight” at the Gunter Theatre in downtown Greenville, SC. It was the second installment of the North Greenville University presents at Gunter series. Last year we featured the choral program singing John Rutter’s Gloria and Requiem. This year we featured the instrumental program by presenting the Concert Band and the Jazz Band under the directorship of Mr. Charlie Parker. The program included Shostakovich, Irvin Berlin, Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, and many jazz and big band favorites. Featured student soloists were Kolby Matson, Donovan Parks, Marlo Hogue, Tony Christopher and others.
